Morocco and Senegal have booked their places in the AFCON 2025 final after a dramatic night of semi‑final football that delivered tension, resilience, and two very different routes to Rabat.
Morocco secured their spot in Sunday’s final after a tense 0–0 draw with Nigeria, eventually triumphing 4–2 on penalties. Backed by a roaring home crowd at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, the Atlas Lions held firm for 120 minutes before showing composure from the spot to reach their first AFCON final since 1976.
Earlier in Tangier, Senegal edged Egypt 1–0, ending the Pharaohs’ hopes of an eighth continental crown. A composed performance and a decisive strike from Sadio Mané sent the Lions of Teranga into another final, reinforcing their status as one of Africa’s most consistent forces.
With Morocco chasing a historic home triumph and Senegal aiming to reclaim the title they won in 2021, Sunday’s showdown in Rabat promises a fitting finale to a gripping tournament.
The third‑place match between Egypt and Nigeria will take place on Saturday in Casablanca.
